After a long absence from the water market, ionized copper is back with a vengeance! The dramatic popularity of water-treatment products based on ionized copper was triggered by two major happenings. These were the bottled water recall of 1996 and the health scare of the millennium: the deadly Legionnaires disease. Tap water sampling and extensive surface testing of drinking water supplies in Cincinnati, Ohio were doing just to investigate the pathogenicity of silver and copper during the period of water treatment using ionization.
